SILENT AUCTION LOT 3

Bidders are invited to make secret, silent bids from 15th August - see details below. You may place an email bid here.

Lot 3: A tour for TWO people at the RNLI Lifeboat Station at Appledore. The couple will (at their own risk) be shown around the Boathouse; be shown the equipment and the lifeboats; this will include a tour of the new £2.7 million Tamar lifeboat, during a training exercise.

This tour will take place on a date and at a time to be mutually agreed between RNLI Appledore and the successful bidder for this Lot.

Minimum Bid £180.


  • 1 Send as many Bids as you wish by post to: -

  • 2 Write the Lot No. on a sheet of paper and the amount you wish to bid for the Lot. For each separate bid for a Lot please use a separate sheet of paper.

  • 3 Give your name, address and telephone number on each sheet of paper.

  • 4 Your letter will be unopened until 7.30p.m. on Sunday, 12th September. This means that if you are away during the Festival you can still bid for any of these unique Lots.

  • 5 Remember it does not matter whether your bid is the last bid or the first. All that matters is that it is the highest.

  • 6 A word of advice. Always bid an 'odd' figure. If, for example, you place a Bid for £210 you may be in danger of losing the Lot to someone who has bid £210.05p! Don't risk it!

    • Lot 1. A Week for FOUR in a Cottage in Laugharne in South Wales - the village of Dylan Thomas.

    • Lot 2. A conducted tour for up to SIX people of Castle Hill with Lady Arran.

    • Lot 3. A tour for TWO at the RNLI Lifeboat Station at Appledore with a special tour of the new £2.7m Tamar Lifeboat.

    • Lot 4. A half day for FOUR with TV Chef and multi Rosette winner, Richard Hunt at the Grand Hotel Torquay - followed by lunch or dinner.

    • Lot 5. A unique black tie candlelit four course private dinner for FOUR with champagne, special wines and musical Entertainment

    • Lot 6. An afternoon and evening visit for TWO to the BBC Television Production Control Centre in Bristol. See a 'live' News programme being prepared and broadcast.

    West Buckland Festival- a festival of music, entertainment and leisure - held in a small village on the edge of Exmoor. This year's festival will feature more than a dozen events between 9th to the 12th September 2010.
